£18,000 Raised To Help Transform Life Of Fleckney Boy

Written by on 24th September 2018

Work is starting to transform the life of a severely disabled youngster from Fleckney, thanks to people donating £18,000.

The DIY SOS fundraiser was launched in March by the parents of Albie Buckby, so major adaptations could be made to their bungalow, as a government grant didn’t cover the total cost.

The three-year-old has a rare epilepsy-type condition affecting his brain and joints, meaning he can’t talk or walk.

A new bedroom and wet-room for Albie is now being built, which will include specialist hoisting systems, and other changes are being made to make his home more wheelchair accessible.
