Work Underway To Locate Cause Of Power Cuts In Kibworth Harcourt

Work is underway to locate an underground cable fault which caused power cuts in Kibworth Harcourt over the weekend.
Over 50 premises in the Main Street area were affected by the outages.
Electricity was cut for three hours from just after 9.30am on Saturday and for over two hours from 7.30pm yesterday.
National Grid is warning there could be further interruptions to supplies during the repair work, which is set to be completed with 24 hours.
A spokesperson for the electricity distribution firm told HFM: “Engineers are now digging in the Main Street area to locate the cause of the fault.
“Further interruptions to electricity supplies may be necessary while this work is carried out but all affected customers will be notified by text message and/ or an information card through their door.
“We’d like to thank customers for being so helpful and understanding and for their ongoing patience. We apologise for any inconvenience caused while we carry out this essential repair as quickly and safely as possible.”
