Work Starts On New ‘Affordable Housing’ Development In Market Harborough

Work has begun on a new affordable housing development in Market Harborough.
27 houses will go up at the back of Tymecrosse Gardens on the Alvington Way estate, which will be sold for shared ownership or let at an affordable rent, to help locals struggling to afford their own home.

Nottingham Community Housing Association (NCHA) is spending just over £6m on the scheme, to be known as Windmill Road, including a contribution of £1.1m from government department, Homes England.
The homes are set to completed by November.
Allan Fisher, Director of Development and Assets at NCHA says, “It has been a positive start getting the groundworks underway.
“We look forward to seeing the new development take shape and contributing 27 new affordable homes to the area.”
Cllr Phil King, Leader of Harborough District Council, said: “We have an excellent record for making affordable homes happen, and I am delighted that the Council has been able to work in partnership with NCHA to provide these fantastic houses for the community, which will be a massive help to those people, on our housing waiting list, struggling to find a property within their budget.”
