Water Works Approach Halfway Stage

Written by on 3rd October 2019

The £2m scheme to replace 5km of water pipes in Market Harborough is approaching its half-way point.

Severn Trent say over 2km of new pipes have now been laid and they are now moving onto the next phase of the major project, that began at the start of the year.

It will see work take place on the Southern Estate, beginning on Rupert Road, as well as in Roman Way towards Doddridge Road.

The scheme to replace aging metal pipes is designed to reduce the high number of leaks and bursts that have been happening across the town in recent years.

Severn Trent is thanking people for their patience as the work continues, with road closures and other restrictions needed to ensure it can be carried out.
