Warning To Dog Owners After Poison-Laced Vegetables Left In Kibworth Park

Dog owners in Kibworth are being warned about poison-laced vegetables being deliberately left in the village’s Warwick Park.

Some pets have become ill and needed veterinary treatment after coming into contact with the carrots and cabbage leaves, placed in hedge lines surrounding the Balancing Pond off Longbreach Road.

Kibworth Beauchamp Parish Council thinks the person responsible for leaving the vegetables could be trying to target wild rabbits in the area and is urging people walking dogs to be on guard and to not allow pets to eat any foodstuffs they may find.

The council’s groundsman is also conducting daily searches for the items, so any found can be removed safely.

The poisoned carrots were discovered last week and the cabbage leaves over the weekend.

Speaking to HFM, parish councillor Kevin Feltham condemned the actions of whoever is behind it:

A spokesperson for the RSPCA said: “If you suspect your dog has eaten something which may be harmful, try to stay calm and contact your vet immediately.
