Warning After Youngsters Play ‘Chicken’ On Railway In Kibworth

Police have issued a warning after a group of young girls were seen playing ‘chicken’ on the railway line in Kibworth.

Officers say two ran across the tracks as a train approached on Saturday evening, while others filmed on their mobiles.

Police posted the warning on Facebook: “If you have a female child/youth/young person who was out in the village between 7-7:30pm on Sautrday then I suggest you check their videos/social media.

“Sadly we had a report of 10 females playing chicken with the trains ON the main line.

“8 on the (tin) bridge and 2 running across the tracks in front of the train,

“As operational officers we have attended incidents where people have been hit by a trai – nobody wants this to happen here.

“Please educate your children of the risk and very genuine threat to life.”
