Village Shows Support For Adam’s Mile

A village has shown its support for a new cycle and footpath to be built in memory of a 13-year-old boy.

Around 70 people gathered and walked some of the proposed route – along the old railway line – between Lubenham and Market Harborough.

The event was attended by Adam’s family and Harborough MP Neil O’Brien.

The government is to make the final decision on whether the mile-long path can go-ahead, after the owner of the majority of the land it will go through lodged an objection.

The family of Adam Mugridge have raised over £100,000 towards creating the path after setting up the AdamSmile charity following the teenager’s death in 2006 when he sadly died after being knocked off his bike by a lorry while cycling to Welland Park School in Market Harborough.
