‘Very Good’ Response To Consultation To Tackle ‘Laughing Gas’ Usage

Written by on 21st June 2021

Over 100 people have had their say on plans to ban the use of psychoactive substances in public places across Harborough.

Harborough District Council is now reviewing comments made during a six-week public consultation, describing the response as ‘very good’.

If adopted, the Public Place Protection Order would give Police more powers to tackle the increasing use of substances like Nitrous Oxide, or ‘laughing gas’.

As well as being a health hazard to those who inhale it, the small silver canisters it is contained within have been causing litter problems across the area.
