Utility companies have apologised for disruption roadworks on the A6 in Kibworth have been causing to drivers.
Temporary traffic lights at two locations have led to lengthy queues, particular during the morning and evening rush-hour.
Works by Severn Trent Water at the Wistow Road junction have been taking place for the past few days, but are set to be completed today. (Friday)
National Grid is working further along the road at the entrance to the waste and recycling site and will be for another week.
Leicestershire County Council, which issues permits for roadworks, has yet to comment on why both works have been allowed to take place at the same time.

A Severn Trent spokesperson said: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused by work to install a water hydrant near to the junction of the A6 and Wistow Road.
“Our teams have finished the installation, but three way traffic lights will remain in place while the road surface is reinstated.
“The reinstatement is taking place now and we’re hoping to clear the site today.
“We appreciate that this is a busy junction and our priority is to remove the three way lights as soon as possible. Again, we’re sorry for any inconvenienced caused by this work.”
A spokesperson for National Grid told HFM: “We apologise for the delays to drivers this work is causing.
“We are re-routing the electrical supply to the upgraded recycling site and are on-course to complete the work by January 20th.”
