Urgent Air Fryer Recall Over Fire Risk

Leicestershire Trading Standards is warning residents about a product recall affecting several Tower air fryer models due to fire safety concerns.

Six models made between January 2022 and April 2023 are included in the recall.

Owners are being urged to stop using them immediately and unplug the appliance.

The products were sold by major retailers including Argos, B&M, Poundland, Robert Dyas, Sainsbury’s, Tesco, and via the Tower Housewares website.

The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) said the air fryers “present a risk of fire as they can overheat and ignite during use” and do not meet safety regulations.

An alert was issued over four of the air fryers last year and a further two have now been added, meaning six models are now included in the recall.

Tower has confirmed the voluntary recall, saying: “Your safety is our top priority… We are conducting this recall to ensure the highest standards of safety and quality.”
