Unanimous Backing To Grant Harborough Olympic Hero Freedom Of The District

A call to grant Market Harborough Olympic hero Dylan Fletcher the Freedom of the District has been unanimously backed by councillors.
The sailor, a former Robert Smyth Student, won a gold medal for Team GB at the Tokyo Olympics.
A special meeting will now be organised ahead of Dylan officially being awarded the honour – which is the highest accolade the District Council can give anyone.
Council Leader Phil King spoke to Hfm:
The Council also agreed that any other medal winners from the Olympic and Paralympic Games, with strong connection to the district, should also be recognised.
