Two Women Arrested After Police Pursuit

Two women have been arrested following a police pursuit through the village of Rushton near Desborough.

It happened on Good Friday after the driver of a black VW Taigo failed to stop for officers in Corby.

As the vehicle made its way along Station Road between 11.40pm and 11.50pm, at least one member of the public had to jump out of the way.

The car stopped shortly afterwards.

The women, aged 23 and 18, were arrested on suspicion of failing to stop for a constable, dangerous driving, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, and driving without valid insurance.

They have since been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.
