Tributes are being paid to a motorcyclist who died after a crash at the Wistow Crossroads.

Police have today named him as father-of-two Steven Duval, who was 55, from Leicester.

He died in hospital after his bike was involved in collision with a blue Mini One Car – the driver of which fled the scene on foot and has still not been traced.

Today Steven’s family paid tribute to him saying: “Steven was a loving husband, best friend to his wife Helina, father to wonderful sons Marty and Joseph, stolen from us too soon.

“Everyone who knew Steve will miss him dearly and cherish their memories of him.”

The crash happened at the Kilby Road, Kibworth Road and Leicester Road junction just before midday on September 26th.

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses and information.

Detective Constable Charlotte Wright said: “Our enquiries remain very much ongoing into this incident and we urge anyone with any information to speak with us if you have not already done so.

“We previously appealed to speak to a woman who we believe stopped at the scene following the incident to help. If this was you, please make contact with us as we believe you can assist us with our investigation.

“We are also keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or saw either vehicle beforehand. If you were driving in the area of Leicester Road, either to or from Newton Harcourt, around the time of the collision, please check any dashcam footage you may have to see if this could assist us.

“If you have any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, you should get in touch.”

Anyone with any information should contact DC Wright on 101 quoting incident 261 of 26 September.
