Tributes On 20th Anniversary Of Helicopter Crash

Flowers have been laid at the site near Tilton On The Hill where three soldiers died in a helicopter crash, to mark the 20th anniversary of the tragedy.

A Lynx helicopter came down into a field near the village on May 18^th 1999, with all but one of the crew from the 9 Regiment Army Air Corps killed.

The helicopter was flying from their base in North Yorkshire to Odiham, Hants, when it crashed.

Police officers were among those to pay their respects on Saturday by the Memorial at the crash site, with those who lost their lives also remembered during a service at St Peter’s Church in Tilton yesterday.
