Torrential Rain Leads To More Flash Flooding

This morning’s torrential rain brought more flash flooding in and around Market Harborough.

Roads in the town centre were among those affected, with a manhole cover on the High Street blown out of the ground at the Bowden Lane junction, because of the intensity of the rain.

New Road in Kibworth was also flooded, with deep water forming under the railway bridge.

The water quickly subsided when the rain stopped.

Meanwhile, Leicestershire County Council is carrying out maintenance on drains on St Mary’s Road in Market Harborough today.
