Threat Of Cuts To Harborough Bus Services ‘Paused’

A review of subsidised bus services which was threatening the future of routes in and around Market Harborough has been ‘paused.’
The announcement comes after Leicestershire County Council received confirmation it will receive nearly £1.8m from the government to support the future of public transport.
Services including the 30 and 33 in Market Harborough, number 44 which links the town with Foxton and Fleckney and route 58 between Market Harborough and Lutterworth risked being cut under the cost-saving plan.
Ann Carruthers, Director of Environment and Transport, told HFM the council will now have more time to consider the options as it formulates a new policy for bus services it supports financially:
The No 44 bus was one of the services at risk
The review was to consider each subsidised route, before it was decided if they would continue in their current form, under a reduced timetable, or not at all.
