Thousands expected at Blaston Show today

Thousands of people are expected at one of the region’s biggest countryside events as the Blaston Show takes place near Market Harborough today.
The volunteer-run show features a packed programme of attractions, including horse displays, sheepdog demonstrations, lawn mower racing, classic cars, vintage tractors and the traditional Parade of the Fernie Hounds.

Visitors can also enjoy livestock competitions, sheep shearing, rural crafts, trade stands, family entertainment and a modern farming display showcasing how today’s farmers produce food and care for the countryside.
This year’s show is supporting the charities LOROS and Leicester Animal Rescue.
Show Director Matthew Trembath said the event offers something for the whole family and told HFM it wouldn’t be possible without the support of volunteers and business sponsors:
The show is taking place at Blaston Showground, near Slawston, and gates are open throughout the day.
