Thousands Enjoy Bottlekicking

Crowds of around 10,000 descended on Hallaton yesterday for the traditional Bottlekicking contest against the neighbouring village of Medbourne.

Hallaton claimed a 2-nil victory in the rugby-style contest, which has been held on Easter Monday for decades.

Records of bottle-kicking date to the late 18th century.
