Teachers Across Harborough Begin Two Days Of Strike Action

Written by on 15th March 2023

Teachers across Harborough have begun two days of strike action.

It is the third time this year members of the National Education Union have walked-out, in an on-going national dispute with the government over pay.

Most schools are either partially or fully closed today and tomorrow as a result of the action.

In Market Harborough, Robert Smyth Academy is only open to children in years 11, 12 and 13, while at Welland Park Academy is closed to all but pupils in years 10 and 11.

However, both schools remain open for children in all year groups deemed as vulnerable.

The NEU is campaigning for a fully-funded pay rise, arguing the current offer by government would be funded from schools’ individual budgets.
