South Leicestershire Litter Wombles celebrate seventh birthday

The South Leicestershire Litter Wombles are marking their seventh birthday.
During that time, the dedicated team of volunteers has collected nearly 250,000 bags of rubbish, including thousands in and around Market Harborough.

To mark the anniversary, over 50 members took part in a large litter-pick near Broughton Astley, gathering more than 200 bags of rubbish in a few hours.
Simon Ingram-Hawkes, a Womble who regularly works in Market Harborough, spoke to HFM’s Nick Shaw about the group’s achievements:
