Shops Praised As Police Carry Out Alcohol Test Purchasing Operation

Written by on 15th November 2021

Harborough Police are carrying out ‘test purchasing’ operations to ensure shops are not selling alcohol to under-age youngsters.

The first took place on Friday evening, with staff at six stores in Lutterworth and one in Walcote all refusing to sell items to Police cadets aged under 18, who posed as customers.

Officers have praised the staff at the shops involved and say similar test purchasing will take place in the coming weeks, saying they hope the same high standards found will be maintained.
