People are being urged to ‘shop local’ in the run-up to Christmas.

The campaign coincides with Small Business Saturday this weekend, a national initiative to encourage people to use their local shops.

Cllr Phil King, Leader of Harborough District Council, is backing the campaign and told HFM following the pandemic, independent retailers need the town’s support:

The Council used to offer free parking in its car parks on Saturdays in December, but like last year is not able to, due to increased financial pressures.
