The private service for friends and family is taking place at the Leicester Tigers Ground in the city.

The death of Mr Cole, who was 55 and had held the position of Chief Constable for 12 years, sparked hundreds of tributes from his family, police officers, other forces, council bosses, MPs and faith leaders.

An inquest into his death was opened in April, but no cause of death was given.
