In Saturday’s local football (22nd April)…

Harborough Town had a blistering end to their first season in Step 4, with an emphatic 6-1 win over Dereham Town – despite the visitors scoring first! The result means The Bees finished eighth in the NPL Midlands Division table – just two points off the play-offs.

All eyes are now on Harborough Town Reserves, who’re already United Counties Football League Reserve Division Champions and won the Leicestershire & Rutland County FA Intermediate Cup midweek. This Tuesday night (25th April) they’re aiming for the treble with another cup game against Newport Pagnell Reserves – It’s at Bugbrooke St Michaels and kicks off at 7.45pm.

In UCL Premier South, there was a positive finish to Desborough Town’s season, thanks to a 2-1 away win at March Town United.

In the Premier League, Foxes fans breathed a sigh of relief as their team beat Wolves 2-1 at the King Power Stadium. It was the first win for Leicester City since the 11th of February – lifting them out of the relegation zone with just five games to go.
