Sainsbury’s Urged To Deal With Car Park Problems

Sainsbury’s is being urged to make urgent improvements to the car park outside its store in Market Harborough.
The poor condition of the road surface in certain areas has led to complaints from shoppers, with large potholes and broken drainage grids.
Some streetlights are also not working in the car park off Springfield Street, which is the town’s biggest.

Although pay and display machines are operated by Harborough District Council, the maintenance of the car park is the responsibility of the supermarket retailer, which has apologised and pledged to take action.
The council has also contacted Sainsbury’s to make them aware of the issues.
Kyra Williams, President of Market Harborough Chamber of Trade told HFM the current condition of it is a concern:

A Sainsbury’s spokesperson told HFM: “We are working hard to improve the condition of our Market Harborough Superstore car park as soon as possible.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
