Rural Bus Service Saved After Council Steps In

A bus service linking villages with Market Harborough has been saved after Daventry Council stepped in to fund it.
The 59 – that serves Welford, Naseby, Clipston, Marston Trussell and East Farndon – was due to stop running at the end of the month after Northamptonshire County Council decided to stop subsidising services to save cash.
£15,000 is being paid to keep the route running – on a slightly reduced timetable – until next March – during which time its hoped a long term solution can be found.
