Royal Navy Veteran Fights Off Robber By Headbutting Her

A Royal Navy veteran from the Harborough District fought off a robber by headbutting her.
Cliff Goldfinch was attacked outside his home in Ullesthorpe, by a woman who had earlier approached him five miles away at Morrisons in Lutterworth, when she asked for the time.
The robber then followed the 74-year-old home, likely in a car, and after engaging Cliff in conversation again, claiming they were neighbours, grabbed his arm in attempt to steal his watch.
She fled on foot when she was headbutted.
The incident on May 24th left Cliff with cuts and bruising to his wrist and arm, but he is determined not to let what happened get to him.
He has spoken to HFM about the ordeal in a bid to warn others about thieves, who often prey on pensioners in supermarkets:

Cliff, who retired from the navy after serving for over 20 years, has described the robber as being of ‘Eastern European’ appearance who did not speak good English.
