Residents Get Greater Voice As Another Neighbourhood Forum Launches

Written by on 31st July 2023

People living in another part of Market Harborough now have a greater say on what happens in their community.

The Welland Ward is the second area of town to get its own Neighbourhood Forum, to give residents more of a say on everything from planning to tackling issues like flooding and traffic.

Plans are afoot to set-up another three forums in the coming months thanks to the work of Harborough Town Hub – which is a non-political volunteer group.

Susan Garon, chair of Welland Neighbourhood Forum, is keen to obtain residents’ views in the area which stretches from Farndon Fields to Northampton Road and south of the River Welland.

Susan said: “We have started work obtaining residents views about their community and have regular meetings to which everyone is welcome.

“We want to know what residents value about Welland ward and what they would like to improve. We will use this information to write a neighbourhood priorities statement”.

If you live or work in Market Harborough and would like to know more about the neighbourhood forums being set up, please contact Harborough District Council at neighbourhoodplans@harborough.gov.uk
