Rail Passengers Urged Not To Travel Tomorrow

East Midlands Railway says people should only travel by rail tomorrow if absolutely necessary, as strike action will cause major disruption to services from Market Harborough.

There will be a reduced timetable in place, with trains only running between 7.30am and 6.30pm and services on Thursday will also be disrupted, as a knock-on effect.

Staff who are members of the RMT Union will join thousands of other rail workers across the country in walking out in the on-going row over pay and conditions.

Another rail union has also announced its members at East Midlands Railway will join further strikes already announced for August 18th and 20th.

The Transport Salaried Staffs’ Association (TSSA) will take action over demands for greater pay and concerns about ticket office closures.
