Private Medical Centre Could Open in Market Harborough

A new private medical centre could be coming to Market Harborough.
Plans have been revealed to convert a vacant unit on Welland Business Park, fronting Rockingham Road, into a healthcare facility with consulting rooms and minor procedure suites.
The medical centre is proposed for Welland Business Park
Planning documents submitted to Harborough District Council say the centre would provide outpatient diagnostic and clinical healthcare services, including consultations, minor procedures and diagnostic imaging.
A statement included with the application says the facility would run on an appointment-only basis, with no walk-in or emergency services.
It adds that patients would attend for pre-booked consultations, allowing for a controlled and predictable level of activity.
No details have been released about who would operate the centre. However, NHS Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Integrated Care Board has confirmed there are currently no plans for a new NHS medical centre at the site.
