Written by on 27th August 2026

More than 150 properties are currently without power in Market Harborough and surrounding villages following a fault on a high-voltage power line.

Just under 550 properties were initially affected when the outage began shortly before 4pm, but electricity has now been restored to a number of homes and businesses.

Areas still affected include parts of Leicester Road in Market Harborough, Gartree, East Farndon and Lubenham.

In Gartree, areas without power include Stuart Crescent and Welland Avenue.

East Farndon is also affected around Marston Lane, while in Lubenham the affected areas include Foxton Road, The Green, Main Street, Mill Hill and Theddingworth Road.

National Grid Electricity Distribution says the problem has been caused by a fault on a high-voltage power line.

Engineers are working to restore supplies to the remaining affected properties.
