Police Station Enquiry Office To Extend Opening Hours

The enquiry office at Market Harborough Police Station will open for longer each day from next month.

From February 2nd, the front-desk will be open 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, adding an extra two hours of public access.

The office is currently open from 10am until 4pm on weekdays and Leicestershire Police say the change is part of wider plans to improve accessibility and standardise front-desk opening times across the county.

To support the extended hours, the force is recruiting new Local Support Team Officers (LSTOs) to reduce the need for PCSOs to staff desks, freeing up frontline officers.

The force is also launching a new digital service via GoodSAM, allowing members of the public to connect with a Local Support Team Officer over a free video call if a local desk is busy or temporarily closed.
