Police ‘Outstanding’ At Tackling Serious & Organised Crime

Leicestershire Police is the best performing force in the East Midlands for tackling serious and organised crime, according to a new report.

The ‘outstanding’ ranking comes following an inspection which compared all of the region’s police teams.

The report, by His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services, praised the force’s ‘integrated approach’ and found management ensured there was a ‘consistent oversight and accountability’ in tackling serious and organised crime.

There was also praise for how the force responded to county lines crimes and urban street gangs.

Northamptonshire Police was judged ‘adequate’ with regards its performance in the same areas.
