Police Launch Festive Drink/Drug Campaign

Police have launched a campaign to catch people who get behind the wheel under the influence of drink or drugs in the run-up to Christmas.
Over 270 drivers were arrested on Leicestershire and Northamptonshire’s roads last December – an increase on the year before.
Northamptonshire Police will be releasing names of all drivers charged and have also released video footage of people arrested on suspicion of drink and drug driving, in a bid to discourage those tempted to get behind the wheel while under the influence.
Additional roadside checks will be carried out over the next few weeks and the Detective Inspector Steve Kilsby, Head of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit at Leicestershire Police, told HFM they are targeting drivers of all ages:
