‘Police Incident’ Closes A14 Eastbound

A ‘police incident’ has closed the eastbound carriageway of the A14 between Kelmarsh and Rothwell.

Officers were called to the stretch of road just before 1.15pm.

Northamptonshire Police have not disclosed the nature of the incident, but a spokeswoman told HFM: “We are currently responding to an incident on the A14.

“There is no wider risk to members of the public but motorists are advised to avoid the area due to the eastbound carriageway between junctions 2 and 3 being currently closed.”

Drivers are being warned to expect extra traffic through Market Harborough, as traffic diverts around the closure.

The diversion is taking motorists off the A14 at junction 2, along the A508 to Market Harborough and down the A6 to rejoin at junction 3.
