Police are hunting a driver who fled the scene of a fatal crash at the Wistow Crossroads yesterday.
The collision claimed the life of a male motorcyclist, who died in hospital following the collision just before midday.
Officers say a man who was driving a blue Mini One car, that was involved in collision with the motorcyclist at the Kibworth Road/Kilby Road/Leicester Road junction, fled the scene on foot and has still not been traced.
Detective Sergeant Gary Haines, from Leicestershire Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “I would particularly like to hear from anyone who saw a blue Mini prior to the collision occurring.
“I am appealing to motorists who were travelling along Leicester Road, either to or from Newton Harcourt, just before midday yesterday. If you have a dashcam installed in your vehicle, then please get in touch.
“Did you see who was driving the Mini, or did you see any other occupants inside? Did you see the driver leave the scene? Any details you have about the driver could help with my investigation.
“The registration plate of the Mini is LJ58 MYX. If you think you know who might own the vehicle – or who has owned it over the past couple of months – then I would also like to speak to you. Do you know who has been driving the vehicle?
“I would also ask anyone who stopped at the scene and has not yet contacted police to come forward.”
