Plea After Fire Engine Blocked By Cars

A fire engine en-route to an emergency call was blocked by illegally parked cars in Desborough last night.

The appliance was stuck for a minute because of vehicles left on double yellow lines and double-parked on Station Road, just after 9pm.

One was eventually moved to allow the fire engine to get through.

The fire crew was heading to Rothwell at the time, to deal with a deliberately-started bin fire.

Earlier this year Desborough Fire Station teamed up with Police to raise awareness of bad parking outside schools in the town.
