Plans submitted to upgrade Kibworth Fire Station

Plans have been announced to upgrade Kibworth Fire Station.
The proposal would see a single-storey extension built at the rear of the on-call base on Fleckney Road, creating a dedicated gym space for firefighters.
The additional area would allow crews to carry out fitness training and house equipment needed to maintain operational readiness.

According to the plans, the extension would measure around 19 square metres and has been designed to meet operational needs while avoiding overdevelopment of the site.
Anthony Wildgoose, Group Manager for Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service, said: “As a Service, we are proud to continually invest in our facilities, benefitting our local communities and the fire crews who serve them.
“As part of this, we have submitted planning for Kibworth Fire Station to receive a refurbishment. If approved, it will be the latest in a series of fire stations to receive such an update.
“This project is still in its early stages, but we can assure local communities that if the work is approved, fire cover and operational readiness will be maintained at current levels throughout, to ensure the public are kept safe.”
A planning application has been submitted to Harborough District Council.
