Plans Announced For New McDonald’s & Costa Coffee Shop

Plans have been announced to open a McDonalds Restaurant on the edge of Lutterworth,

A Costa Coffee shop would also be built on the site off Coventry Road, near the roundabout with the A4303.

80 jobs would be created by the development, with both venues operating drive-thru facilities.

A planning application to build on the land owned by Leicestershire County Council has been lodged with Harborough District Council by McDonald’s Restaurants Ltd.

A document submitted with it reads: “The proposals will result in the delivery of economic generating uses through the development of a vacant and underutilised site.

“Both operators have wide representation at similar roadside locations across the UK and are popular with consumers.”

“There is known operator demand for roadside uses at this location and being located on the strategic highway network, the site is a logical
development site for such uses.”
