Plane Makes Emergency Landing Near Great Glen

An investigation has been launched after the pilot of a light aircraft made an emergency landing near Great Glen.

No-one was injured when the plane came down in a field in Little Stretton yesterday evening, as a result of what is thought to have been a mechanical issue.

Emergency services including police were called to the scene and officers alerted the Air Accidents Investigation Branch.

A spokesperson for the AAIB said: “An accident involving a light aircraft which occurred yesterday near Great Glen, Leicestershire was notified to the AAIB.

“An investigation has commenced.”
