How part of the development will look
Plans have been handed in to Harborough Council to create a new 1,200 home neighbourhood in Scraptoft.
Most of the land earmarked for the development is currently used by Scraptoft Golf Club, which would move to a new site should it go-ahead.
A primary school, retail centre and healthcare facility is also included.
The site is the second largest to be included in the Harborough District’s local plan, which details where just under 13,000 new homes will go between now and 2031.
Parker Strategic Land is behind the plan – Managing Director Adrian Lott, said: “We are pleased to be bringing the Scraptoft proposals forward, in partnership with the landowners, local councils and residents to create the right plan for the local community. I am particularly proud of the plans for a new primary school.”
Harborough Council’s Planning Committee is expected to consider the application in the coming months.
