Plan For New Care Home In Kibworth Rejected

Plans for a new care home in Kibworth Beauchamp have been rejected.
Harborough District Council’s planning committee last night refused planning permission for the 72-bedroom facility, earmarked for Fleckney Road, adjacent to The Nurseries.
Councillors ruled the plan went against the Kibworths’ Neighbourhood Plan and would have been overdevelopment in a countryside location.
Over 60 people had lodged objections
Applicant, Tanglewood Care Homes, said there was a need for the facility, but the committee heard there were spaces in existing homes in the area.
The home would have created 60 full-time jobs.
