Pedestrian Crossing Fault Fixed Following Safety Concerns

Highway bosses have fixed a pedestrian crossing fault in Market Harborough following safety concerns.
A detector problem had previously allowed vehicles to turn into St Mary’s Road from The Square while the green man signal was showing.

The council says the problem has now been resolved and checks confirm the lights are operating correctly.
The issue was investigated by Leicestershire County Council after HFM highlighted the risk that a pedestrian could be struck.

A spokesperson added: “We will continue to monitor over the next few weeks and months and make any adjustments as required.”
