Written by HFM News on 14th October 2026
The main entrance to Market Harborough’s Memorial Gardens is closed until Friday to allow work to be carried out safely on an adjacent building.
Access to the gardens from The Square is currently unavailable, with part of the pathway cordoned off while renovation and refurbishment work takes place at Market Harborough Building Society’s Welland House branch.

The main entrance to Market Harborough’s Memorial Gardens is closed until Friday and then again next week.
Pedestrians can still use the entrance from the Commons Car Park.
The gardens are due to fully reopen over the weekend before a further partial closure from Monday, lasting up to two days.

Visitors are being asked to follow the temporary signs and fencing while the work is carried out.
A spokesperson for Harborough District Council said: “Temporary fencing and signage will be installed ahead of maintenance works, and we kindly ask residents and visitors to respect all closure notices while work is underway.”
