Over 100 Covid-19 Cases In A Week Across Harborough

There have been over 100 Coronavirus cases across the Harborough District in the past seven days – the highest number for several months.
26 were recorded yesterday, taking the total in the past week to 103 – 68 more than previous 7 days.
A number of pupils testing positive at Kibworth Mead Academy has contributed to the rise – some year groups have been learning from home this week as a result.
Latest data from Public Health England shows the weekly infection rate in the Harborough District is 104.5 per 100,000 people, above the national average of 77 and the second highest in the East Midlands.
Mike Sandys, Director of Public Health for Leicestershire, told Hfm it is vital people get tested and take up the offer of a vaccination, when offered one:
