No-Nonsense Sign Stops Public Area Being Used As ‘Toilet’

A no-nonsense sign warning people not to use a wooded area in Little Bowden as a ‘toilet’ appears to have had the desired effect.
It was put it up at the entrance to a footpath off Kettering Road and warned anyone caught defecating would be fined £2,500.

The District Council acted after complaints from residents, although it is not known who was responsible for the disgusting behaviour in the area that links Kettering Road with Rolleston Close.
Cllr Jonathan Bateman, Harborough District Council’s Cabinet lead for environmental services, said: “Unfortunately, there had been localised incidents of people using a public area, off Kettering Road, as a toilet.
“This is clearly totally unacceptable, and we put up a temporary sign warning people that they face a fine of up to £2,500 if caught.
“We are pleased that this issue now seems to have stopped, and this sign has been taken down.”
