A new project is to launch in the Harborough District to help children from low-income families get active.
Home-Start South Leicestershire will work with the Council and Leicester-Shire and Rutland Sport to deliver it, after funding of over 440 thousand pounds was secured from Sport England.
It’ll include organising tailored, affordable activities and creating activity plans with families including weekly visits from volunteers.
The project will run for four years and if successful could be rolled out to other parts of the county.
National figures show four out of five children don’t get enough exercise.
