New Kibworth Rail Bridge On Track To Open Next Month
Written by HFM News on 25th March 2024
Work on a new footbridge over the railway in Kibworth is nearing completion.
A temporary structure has been in place off School Road since last October while Network Rail demolished and re-built the main bridge, to accommodate wires for the electrification of the tracks.
Villagers campaigned to get the temporary bridge installed after the well-used pedestrian link was set to be completely closed while the work took place.

A Network Rail spokesperson told HFM: “Grammar School Bridge is due to reopen in April.
“The temporary bridge removal will start once the bridge opens and will take around 4 weeks to remove. Our latest programme shows that work and demobilisation of our site should be complete in this area by early June.
“We are sorry for the disruption this work has caused and we want to thank residents for their continued patience and understanding while this essential work is taking place.”
