New Homes Bin Charge Plan Put On Hold

A controversial plan to charge people moving into new houses for wheelie bins has been put on hold by Harborough Council for the time being.
The Council’s Executive was due to push ahead with the idea when it met last night, although the item was taken off the agenda because members wanted more information about the proposal.
It will now be discussed at a future meeting.
If the charge came into force, there would be a delivery fee of £47.50 for black bins – and £45 for others.
