New Bollards To Stop Cars

New wooden bollards have been installed at the Symington’s Recreation Ground in Market Harborough, in a bid to stop cars being driven onto it.

It follows problems in March when so-called boy racers caused major damage to the grass, in an area used by Borough Alliance FC as pitches.
Harborough Council has taken the action and Cllr Michael Rickman, community safety lead, said: “The bollards have been installed to protect the playing surfaces for the sporting and general enjoyment of residents at Symington Recreation Ground, following incidents of anti-social behaviour where inconsiderate people chose to treat the playing area as a race track.
“This installation will reduce the possibility of any re-occurrence.”
